Gouka Seishi, Japan Trip 2

I decided to make a 2nd trip to Japan just before Christmas of last year (2010). I was worrying so much as the weather was terrible in Europe at the end of 2010 and I was thinking that my flight would be cancelled. I was lucky enough in the end to fly with Flybe from Manchester to Paris after waiting around at Manchester airport for an extra 30 minutes.

I landed in Paris Charles de Gaulle and waited around for my next flight to Tokyo, and boarded my Air France flight on time at 1pm.

Annoyingly and unknown to me at first, I had to wait till 6pm to take off from Paris Charles de Gaulle as the plane had to be de-iced due to the bad weather. I was lucky to fly as the following day flights from Paris we’re cancelled due to the airport running out of de-icer.

After finally taking off from Paris I could finally have something to eat.

The food wasn’t too bad, it was some fish dish but I asked for a chicken and pasta dish at first?!? But the stewardess walked past us and then said only the fish dish was left, which added to my frustration.

I was impressed by all the new screens and the room on the Air France A380.

During the flight we had to get our own food or drinks, this was a bit of pain too as I had a window seat and I had to keep waking up the two Japanese passengers to the left of me who were not best pleased. I was glad I knew how to say excuse me in Japanese ( Sumi masen ) and sorry ( Gomen nasai ) as I would of been stuck otherwise. At the time I wish I had known more Japanese as I always get bored on long flights.

After an 11 hour + flight we finally arrived in Tokyo after a pretty amazing descent into Narita Airport.
