Blind is created by a group of Japanese creators who are making a short fiction film set in Japan after another nuclear disaster.
Pasha the producer of this film said “we imagine Tokyo where fallout readings are a part of the weather forecast and gasmasks are as ubiquitous as black suits and Gucci bags. The piece reflects our experience living in post-Fukushima Japan as well as our hopes for the future.
As you are probably aware, Japan’s coastline is peppered with some 54 nuclear reactors sitting on what is basically a heaving fault-line. Yet, even as Tokyo is still being rocked by aftershocks, there is a sense of fatigue and creeping hopelessness. We hope our film will remind not only our Japanese compatriots but all concerned citizens worldwide what is at stake.
We have already shot all of the footage and are currently raising money on Kickstarter, a site for crowd-sourcing creative projects, to cover expenses and for post-production. Once completed, we will enter it in all conceivable film festivals worldwide.”
To find out more and to donate, please visit the Kickstarter page here.
The film looks pretty good from the preview, I hope they can get the donations they require by Tuesday the 23rd of August.
