As seen previously in the Top Gear episode when the race to The Great Buddha of Mount Nokogiri, this Great Buddha is situated in the area of Mount Nokogiri in the southwest parts of Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

Nokogiri means “saw” and Mount Nokogiri is 329 meters high. You can see some awesome views by accessing Mount Nokogiri via a rope way, and see Tokyo Bay and Yokohama City.

This statue also has the name of Nihonji Daibutsu (Great Buddha) of Mount Nokogiri.

The Giant Buddha of Mount Nokogiri is 31 meters high, and was once the highest Buddha in Japan. The tallest buddha in Japan is infact the Ushiku Daibutsu, which is located in Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture.
