In just four weeks, 2:46 Quakebook turned an idea which was first voiced in a single tweet, into a collection of essays, artwork, photographs from people around the World, including people who experienced the disaster and the journalists who covered the earthquake which happened earlier this year.
I find out how with the use of social networks such as Twitter, can promote the voice of one person to reach many around the World.
In just over a week, a group of unpaid professional and citizen journalists who met on Twitter created the book to raise money for the Japanese Red Cross earthquake and tsunami relief efforts.
The book contains a piece by Yoko Ono, and work created just for the book by William Gibson, Barry Eilser and Jake Adelstein.
The primary goal of the book was to raise awareness of what had happened and to raise money for relief efforts.
The book is available for the Kindle as a free e-book
or from the Sony Reader Store.
You can also order the printed version of Quakebook here.
