Last year I posted about how KFC is in an important part of Christmas in Japan, and experienced seeing the huge queues outside KFC when I visited Japan at Christmas, in 2011. This this year will most likely be no different
.
KFC Japan
When you get to the KFC Japan website you see the KFC bucket with a Christmas theme and links to all the different food they offer.

I clicked on the Christmas icon going around the bucket and then I saw this cute Christmas scene above where you get to see the products which are on offer this Christmas at KFC from the 30th of November.
The food as you can see above looks so tasty and in some set meals includes chicken, Christmas cake, a salad and a special plate which they have been giving out since 1990. The strange thing about the KFC Japanese Christmas menu to me, is the addition of roast chicken as I mentioned last year.

Above is a brief overview of the history of the KFC Japan Christmas Plates above. Download the full KFC Japan Christmas Plate history.
and the KFC Japan Christmas 2011 advert, so cute.
McDonalds Japan
Last year McDonalds also tried to fight back at the demand/grip KFC Japan has on Christmas Eve in Japan, by offering the icon box which can be bought up-to Christmas day.
The icon box hasn’t changed much, but neither has the KFC Japan Christmas menu. The menu price is cheaper, but I think I would rather go for KFC if I had a choice.
For more information about the the icon box, please checkout McDonalds Japan.
