Thames Festival 2012

On Saturday the 8th the Thames Festival took place in London, and while I was in London I thought I would go for a look.
I caught a bus from Canada Water and got off just near to the South Bank where I saw this cool thing on the top of one of the buildings.
The view from this bridge of some of landmarks is pretty cool, for example this view with the London Eye and Westminster in the background.

and next to the bridge is of course South Bank which is full of many restaurants, such as this I liked for Wahaca.

I like this poster for the Southbank

Walking along towards the Thames Festival, I noticed Bart on the small Thames beach. Some guy had created this little prop and was walking around drinking while people through down a pound each time they saw it.

and the rest of the beach was prettty as well.

I made my way to stage in this area, as I thought it was Gabreil’s Wharf where an event was going to take place. The stage had a mini carnival event that was taking place just before the event I wanted to see.

The carnival was pretty with lions, ants etc.

hehe the cool costumes.

and then when it finished I realised I was in the wrong place and I had to rush to get to Gabriel’s Wharf.

Gabriel’s Wharf was easy to miss. Iif you are walking from the South Bank area and towards the OXO tower, then look for an area to the right with wooden huts and then you should see the wall above.
I watched the Shishi Odori event, which was really interesting.

You can view more about the Shishi-Odori dance here.
After watching the Shishi-Odori I made it back towards the South Bank area where I noticed many places for food and craft items, but also this cute character below.
