Japanese Kit Kats
One of my favourite things from Japan/items to buy in Japan would have to be Kit Kat’s! Compared to the UK which only has a few flavours, Japan has over 100!
From Wasabi flavour to Azuki (red bean) flavour, you can find many flavours. I’ve tried many a different Kit Kat, thanks to friends sending me them from Japan, as well as Kit Kat’s I have seen on my travels.
Below are a list of Kit Kat’s that I have seen or had sent to me..
When in Japan I noticed all these flavours, click on the pictures below to view more.

Matcha (抹茶) Green Tea Flavour
This was one of the first Green Tea Kit Kats I had eaten, I was surprised by the taste being similar to white chocolate at first, and then the green tea has it’s bite at the end.
Green Tea and one with more of milky taste

It’s so strange seeing different coloured biscuits, compared to what I was used to here with normal Kit Kats. The Kit Kats below tasted a bit different to the normal Green Tea Kit Kats.
On a train journey I picked up this Orange Big Choc, which tasted nice. Orange has to be my favourite flavour of all the Kit Kats.
You can also buy them in the packs, such as the orange ones below which I haven’t tried yet.
Sometimes special Kit Kats can be launched, for example this Kit Kat Orange for Tokyo Sky Tree.
The Kit Kats looked normal, but the orange flavour was so overpowering, yet nice
.
Dark Chocolate Petit
The petit Kit Kats come as single bars, which was different. I loved the Dark Chocolate Kit Kats
.
Yokohama Strawberry Cheesecake, Matcha Latte, Strawberry and Ice cream flavours!
Uji Matcha Latte
Such a weird Kit Kat, nicer than the normal Green Tea Kit Kat as the green tea flavour is overpowered by a nice dark chocolate taste
.
Ice Cream Kit Kats
This is one of my favourite flavours, it has a nice taste and does taste like vanilla ice cream!
Strawberry Cake Kit Kat
My first taste of a Strawberry Kit Kat was the one above, they are pink and tasted of Strawberry straight away but..
Yokohama Strawberry Cheesecake Kit Kats
These were much nicer, with a stronger taste. They are one of many special Kit Kats around Japan, but these here are for Yokohama with the famous red building (Aka Renga) as the background design.
and another Strawberry Kit Kat..which features a crane on the design. The taste was nice
of course, but the Yokohama version was my favourite.
Annin Dofu Flavour
I’ve never tried this Chinese dessert, but I loved the almond taste at the end of each of these sweet tasting Kit Kats.
Okinawan Yam Flavour (Beni-Imo 紅いも) Kit Kats
A very nice flavoured Kit Kats, that was purple
.
Wasabi and Blueberry Cheesecake Flavours
Two flavours I haven’t tried yet, but I look forward to trying both
.
Valentines Day Kit Kat
This special White Chocolate and Lemon Kit Kats were released in 2009, click on the image above for more pictures and information by Haikugirl.
2013 New Year Kit Kats
A friend sent me these Kit Kats which were available in the post office for the New Year, and with these year being the year of the snake..a cute character was used
.
I love all the Kit Kats that i’ve tried so far in Japan, but I hope to try more soon!
