Art Exhibition in Tokyo

Gouka Seishi, Art Exhibition Tokyo

Last month I went to an art exhibition with a friend, for the students at the Kuwasawa Design School, in Shibuya.

The exhibition took place between the 22/2 – 24/2. It was interesting to see the design perspective of students here in Tokyo/Japan..and it was also free :) . For more information checkout the 2013 Art Exhibition here.

I loved the illustration in these designs above and below/

This idea with wolves below, was a bit weird..but the drawings on the wall looked great.

I was surprised to see Western characters..so this below was one of my favourite parts of exhibit.

I tried to capture a good picture of this image below, but sadly I failed. The detail on he whale was superb.

TOKYO Olympic 2020 poster ideas

As well as other pieces of work, I also came across many ideas for 2020 Olympics bid.

I liked the idea of using characters in the style of Ukiyo-e..that also included The Great Wave.

But I really liked this idea below. The colour was bright and the pattern reminded me of the style used by the Gaudi work  I saw in Barcelona.

A website had been mocked-up as well, which looked cute and friendly.

Interior Design & Architecture Design

I love Interior Design and Architectural Design, so it was nice to see some different ideas. The above item reminded me of the work by Yayoi Kusama.

Some of the Interior Design pieces also had a Western influence on them.

Product Design & Packaging Design (PT2)

I liked many of the product ideas, which mainly tried to use environmentally-friendly items..such as batteries and solar panels.
